if you can't get if it you shave, then can you cure it by shaving? also, can you shave your head to cure head lice?
just to clear the air- i do NOT have pubic lice or pubic hair. just curious.
It seems the general consensuses is yes you can. Pubic lice are usually found in pubic hair, although they may be found on other parts of the body. Treat the area with an insecticide solution formulated for pubic lice. You can purchase one over the counter or by prescription. Use according to the directions.
last friday 5/25 i saw some whitish brownish tiny things stuck in my hair that i thaught may have been lice and i told my parents about it and they wernt sure what it was i did see a dark brown bug fal out of my hair onto my shirt and i thaught it was lice and my brother saw it too but we didnt find anything in my hair but the whitish brownish objects that look like nits (well to me) so we bought the lice killing shampoo and comb and we used it in my hair well the whitsh brownish nit look alikes were still there that as much but still there well we jsut repeated the treament today 6/1 like it said too and i still havent saw an actually lice in my hair only the whitsh brownish things and the one brown bug that fell on my shirt i never was "iching" the brown white things r really hard to get out and arnt noticable unless u look really really hard and they r like hard to find..but i know u have to have lice in order to have to eggs & i was woundering does this sound like lice? lice eggs?
yes they are hard to get out they r like on the hair real good
no one in my household has it we cheacked they dont even have the eggs…my sister and i use the same brushes and she dosent have naything in her hair
the schools where i live at has a bad problem each year with lice and it is hard to get rid of,my son caught it and we shaved his head,but that got rid of it,then it was in this carpet in the same house we're staying at now,been here for 10 months now,the landlord refuses to do anything about the carpet.i even got the nits in my hair also and my hair is long and dark brown,so i know what you're going thru,did you change your bed sheets,and put your hairbrush and com in the bathroom sink with the lice medince in it? if not you need to and also wash your towels,bed sheets and everything including your covers in hot water,that will help also.if you got carpet go to your nearest depot or ace,or lowes and get you a can or bag of 7 dust sprinkle it on your floor and leave it on there over night,then vacum,do all that i told you to do and you won't have to worry about catching them things again.

anyways, i want to know if there are any home remedies and if the chemicals in hair dye would kill the lice. i was thinking of using hydrogen peroxide but i heard somewhere that that bleaches your hair
The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical shampoos then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

There is somewhere I really need to be but my parents won't let me go with my lice! What is the fastest cure you know? and I'm home alone so don't say stuff that a normal person probably doesn't have around. please oh please help me.
You can get rid of it today but you need help. Use a lice shampoo to kill any live bugs. Wash all your bedding and vacuum. Use a fine tooth metal comb for lice or I bought on used to remove fleas on animals much cheaper. Have someone comb through your hair and pick out every nit. Use a bright light of sit outside in the sun so they won't miss any. Its hard work and a pain in the butt but the only way.

Sounds like Lice. Wash your hair in flea and tick shampoo. It will kill them as well. Let it set on for 10 minutes or so. You can do it everyday if you need too.
A little over a week ago I found lice in my 3 year old daughters hair, I checked the two boys and they did not have it. I got a shampoo perscribed by the doctor, washed everyones hair (I washed my daughters 3 times), washed EVERYTHING in the house in hot water (took all day), sprayed everything and so on. Yesterday I took my 3 & 4 year old to get their hair cut and they both had it!!! I don't know what to do to get rid of it!!! I am a single mother who is having to miss work Again to take care of this, and I just want to make sure that it is gone this time, does anyone have any suggestions (they can not obviously go back to daycare with any nits so it needs to get rid of it all in a short amount of time). My dughter has very long thick hair and we had suffered head lice for six months, buying all the chemist remedies, with no effect. My mother bought a book containing household remedies and it said: saturate the hair with listerine mouthwash and cover with a shower cap. Leave for 2 hours then shampoo in the normal way. We did this and it killed all the lice immediately. Then saturate the hair with white vinegar and comb with a nit comb and the vinegar destroys the glue that the head lice fix the nits to the hair with. Just comb them out. Believe me - it works!!

If your friend has it, then you could get it too. If you do get it, you can treat it, they sell shampoo for lice treatments. The thing is, you will have to make sure you wash your sheets, clothes, etc if you do end up getting it.
The thing is, if your friend does have it, you might already have it. Lice can jump 10+ feet, so if one was on her and you got close enough, or your hair touched hers, or if you even put on a shirt of hers, you could have it too. Plus, those little buggers self produce, so you get one on you, they lay eggs, then you have lots on you.
Also, from my experience, mostly dirty people get it. I am not saying clean people don't, but the people who don't wash their hair daily, or don't clean regularly get it more often.
